Author Biography


Debbie Harris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Education, a Master of Performance Studies degree from Bob Jones University, and a Masters of Science degree from Texas A & M University at Commerce with a double emphasis in School Counseling and Community Counseling. She has also served as an Assistant Professor of Speech and Drama at Grand Rapids Baptist College and Seminary (now Cornerstone University) and as Adjunct Professor of Drama at Dallas Baptist University. She is currently a School Counselor and has been a volunteer Chaplain at Parkland Hospital. She has just been featured in the 2012 March/April issue of Southern Writers Magazine as a Christ Centered Contemplative Poet and has written two articles for them as well as one blog spot on their online website. Her poem “He Is Able” is included in the August 2013 issue of Conversations Journal. A few of her poems will be included in the upcoming on line magazine, Living Magazine, out of Richardson, Texas. Her poem, “Impossibilities Become Possible With An Amazing God”will be published in Christian Quarterly Magazine. Her poem,”Living Out Christmas All Year Long” is published in the November/December 2013 Gaither Homecoming Magazine. Her poetry book, Which Church Am I? has been featured in World Magazine, Home & School Magazine, Southern Writers Magazine and listed on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Christian Bookstore Distributor Websites. Which Church Am I? is now an E-book available on Kindle and Sony. Written in skillfully crafted free verse, poet Debbie Harris blends elegance, beauty, and sensitivity into Christ centered portraits.
